Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill requires that magistrate court clerks, circuit clerks and the supreme court clerk inform all members of a jury and trial counsel of all contributions greater $250.00 made by attorneys to the presiding judicial officer or officers. It includes that the clerks must also inform the jury and counsel of the amount donated to the elected judge and when that donation was made. While this bill is unduly burdensome for the court clerks, it has no fiscal impact on the judiciary.
