Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The purpose of this bill is to require the Secondary Schools Activities Commission to adopt rules to require the use of neck braces by all football players involved in interscholastic athletic football events.
The estimate cost of $326,970 was based on 10,899 boys who played football during the current year at $30.00 per neck brace. Since the bill does not provide State funding, the total cost would have to be absorbed by the county boards of education.
