Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to create a fund for the transfer of moneys pursuant to a settlement agreement with Eli Lilly and designate the allowable expenditures.
As written, this legislation would provide $14,750,000 to the Department to use according to the settlement provisions of the State of West Virginia v. Eli Lilly and Company, Inc., United States District Court of the Eastern District of New York, Civil Action No. 06-CV-5826.
This funding would cover some construction and one-time costs to assist the Department in complying with the Hartley consent decree.
