Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

Fiscal Note for SB 480 Committee Substitute The Committee Substitute for Senate Bill 480 (as approved by the Senate Education Committee on February 23, 2010) requires the hiring of three new staff members within the Higher Education Policy Commission. The bill requires the hiring of a Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and a Director of Classification, Compensation and Human Resources Information Systems in FY 2011. A Director of Training is to be hired in FY 2012, so the fiscal note only makes notational reference to the future cost. The bill also requires two contracted studies – one to complete a market salary analysis and the other to conduct an audit of compliance with best practices by institutions in regard to human resources. Staff estimates these studies will cost $100,000 combined.
