Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill will allow the Public Service Commission to assess fees under Chapter 24B-5-3 in an amount equal to the appropriated budget for the Gas Pipeline Safety fund (8624). FY 2010 Appropriation is requested at $311,208. The increased revenue would be $11,208. Current authorized assessment is $300,000.
As costs and appropriations rise in later years, this legislation allows for increased revenue assessments, matching the approved budget appropriation, up to the maximum of $400,000.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The estimated costs will remain the same with this change. The Revenue in FY 2010 would increase $11,208 which added to our current assessment level of $300,000 will generate revenue sufficient to fund the estimated expenditures of $311,208.
