Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to prohibit state funding for the distribution of holiday or greeting cards by elected officials, state employees, departments or agencies. The Department of Administration does not have the ability to determine the fiscal impact of this bill as there is no specific object code in the financial system that can identify the amount spent for such items.
Any monies spent on holiday and greeting cards is included in the object code used for office supplies and printing. There is also no statewide contract. The Department of Administration does not know what vendors are utilized by each official or agency.
