Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
During the 2006 Regular Legislative Session, the Legislature enacted HB2016 which created ten addtional deputy clerk positions state-wide. The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals conducted a study to see where those ten positions were most needed. The Supreme Court found an immediate need for an additional clerk in Lewis County, Jefferson County, Mercer County, Berkeley County and Braxton County. Therefore, this legislation is no longer needed.
