3. Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The purpose of this bill is to provide an additional $5,000 salary supplement to fully certified math and science teachers who teach in these subject areas in grades seven through 12 and to certified reading teachers.
The following number of teachers, eligible to be funded through the Public School Support Program, would be eligible for the salary supplement: Math $1,797 Science $1,481 Reading $ 184 Total $3,462 The estimated cost to the State through the Public School Support Program is $23,603,916. |
