Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill allows jurors from other counties to be drawn to serve in another county when jurors cannot be conveniently found in the county in which the trial is to be held. This bill adds to the current statute cases referred to the Mass Litigation Panel. The costs associated with this legislation would be minimal since the court would be paying for the juror regardless of what county he or she resides in. Although there may be a slight increase in juror travel costs, such an approach will be more cost effective than relocating the trial.
