Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to provide maternity benefit coverage and post-delivery care for pregnant dependants of state employees.
There are approximately 4,300 female teenagers covered by the Public Employees Insurance Agency. For projection purposes fifteen (15%) per-cent will be assumed to have pregnancies at a cost of $3,800. Assumption will also be made that costs will increase ten (10%) per-cent annually.
