Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The Division of Corrections currently takes DNA samples from each offender sentenced to its custody that is transferred to a DOC facility. This proposed change would not have an operational impact on the Division of Corrections as it changes the standard from "convicted" to "arrested" and would presumably move this resonsibility from Corrections to jail and detention facilities.
