Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill, if passed, would save the Division of Corrections and the State of West Virginia approximately $1.4 million the during the first year on medical expenses for inmates. We expect this figure to double beginning July 2008 when the medicaid rates are applicable.
