Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill would provide a $50,000 dollar death benefit to beneficiaries of firefighters and EMS personnel who are killed in the performance of their duties. The Department of Administration is not the appropriate agency to complete this fiscal note as we do not have any data as to how many firefighters or EMS personnel there are in the State. I would suggest that a fiscal note request be sent to the State Fire Marshall and to the agency who certifies EMS personnel. The Department of Administration does not know how many people this would affect nor do we have information as to the approximate amount of individuals killed on an annual basis in the performance of their duties.
