| The purpose of this bill is to provide a salary supplement for providers of Medicaid eligible services in the public schools financed through the Medicaid reimbursements received by the county boards of education.

3. Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Under this proposal, 7% of the Medicaid reimbursements received must be used for salary supplements for providers of eligible services. (The Medicaid reimbursement for fiscal year 2004 was $21,600,000. Based on this amount, 7% would be $1,512,000.) These funds were previously unrestricted for use by the county boards. As a result, the estimated cost to the various county boards of education under this proposal is $1,512,000.
