Miley, Spencer, Staggers, Talbott and Varner)
Disapproving of the decision by George W. Bush, President of the
United States, announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more
than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq.
Whereas, The Legislature and the citizens of West Virginia will
continue to support and protect the members of the United States
Armed Forces who are serving or who have served bravely and
honorably in Iraq
; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Legislature hereby disapproves of the decision by
George W. Bush, President of the United States, announced on
January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United
States combat troops to Iraq; and, be it
Further resolved,
That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
is
hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to
George W. Bush, President of the United States,
to each member of the West Virginia Congressional Delegation
, and to all Members of
the United States Congress.
