HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 1

Honoring the contributions of John Mullins to the West Virginia House of Delegates and particularly, the House Minority Office.

Whereas, John Mullins has served as the only Legislative Analyst for the House Minority since December 1992; and
Whereas, During his tenure as a House staffer, John has been a secret weapon for the House Republicans in floor maneuvers and speeches; and
Whereas, John is a loving and caring father to his daughter Allie and an outstanding purveyor of Girl Scout cookies; and
Whereas, John's efforts to promote the State of West Virginia have become legendary among legislative staffers across the country because of his uncle "Devil Anse"; and
Whereas, John's athletic ability and coaching prowess led the West Virginia Legislative Bills softball team to their one and only Statehouse Softball League Championship; and
Whereas, John's dedication to the West Virginia House of Delegates has been tested time and time again by numerous offers to professionally photograph scantily clad models; and
Whereas, John's annual corruption of some of West Virginia's finest college students resulted in the creation of the infamous "Com-Promise" scholarship program; and
Whereas, John has been the voice of "right" and reason during daily lunch discussions in the House Finance Committee room; and
Whereas, Although his employment in the House of Delegates for more than a decade has resulted in obvious follicle disabilities, John is to be commended for not seeking workers' compensation benefits; and
Whereas, His karaoke renditions of "Lady in Red" at the Carpet Rouge have thrilled many legislators and legislative staffers; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That the Legislature is saddened to lose the talents of John Mullins and wish him well in all his future endeavors; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the members of this Legislature are confident they are better servants to the citizens of West Virginia because of John's contributions over the years.
