H.C.R. 45
RE: Establishment of certified low vision driver education
training, evaluation and licensing program
SPONSORED BY:Delegates Warner, Leach and Compton
DATE: March 8, 1995
The purpose of this House Concurrent Resolution is to request
the appointment of a special joint committee to conduct an interim
study relating to the establishment of a certified low-vision
driver education training, evaluation and licensing program.
This resolution is in response to HB2643, introduced on
February 24, 1995, which would have established such a program.
Its late introduction prevented adequate review of vision acuity
standards and other complex provisions in the bill. Accordingly,
this resolution was drafted to provide for more careful examination
of the issue and for the preparation of appropriate legislation to
be presented to the 1996 legislative session.
