SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 62

Recognizing the service of the Honorable Dan Foster, member of the West Virginia Senate, former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates and dedicated public servant.

    Whereas, Dan Foster was born January 31, 1948, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the son of Ward and Mary Foster; and

    Whereas, Dan Foster received his education from Harvard College (BA) and Stanford University School of Medicine (MD), and did his Surgery Residency at Tulane University Associated Hospitals; and

    Whereas, Dan Foster was first elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2002, and then elected to the West Virginia Senate in 2004 and 2008; and

    Whereas, The Honorable Dan Foster currently serves on the Committees on Pensions (Chair), Health and Human Resources (Vice Chair), Education, Government Organization, Judiciary, and Labor. Additionally, he serves on the Legislative Oversight Commission on Health and Human Resources Accountability and Joint Committee on Pensions and Retirement (Cochair); and

    Whereas, The Honorable Dan Foster is married to his beloved wife Kathy, with whom he shares the joy of having three sons, Brad, Doug, and Greg; and

    Whereas, The Honorable Dan Foster has decided not to seek reelection in 2012, bringing an end to a distinguished career in public service; therefore, be it

    Resolved by the Senate:

    That the Senate hereby recognizes the service of the Honorable Dan Foster, member of the West Virginia Senate, former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates and dedicated public servant; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere appreciation to the Honorable Dan Foster for his dedication and commitment to the citizens of Kanawha County and the State of West Virginia; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Dan Foster.
