A BILL to amend and reenact section five, article one, chapter twenty-one of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuing the division of labor.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section five, article one, chapter twenty-one of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. DIVISION OF LABOR.
§21-1-5.
Continuation of division.
After having conducted a performance audit through its joint committee on government operations, Pursuant to article ten, chapter four of this code, the Legislature hereby finds and declares that the division of labor should be continued and reestablished. Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the division of labor shall continue to exist until the first day of July, two thousand two four, unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to that article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the West Virginia division of labor until July 1, 2004, pursuant to the West Virginia sunset law. This bill is recommended by the joint committee on government operations for passage during the 2002 Regular Session of the Legislature.
