A BILL to amend and reenact section thirty-one, article three, chapter twenty-nine of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuing the state fire commission.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section thirty-one, article three, chapter twenty-nine of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 3. FIRE PREVENTION AND CONTROL ACT.

§29-3-31. Termination of the state commission.
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the state fire commission shall continue to exist until the first day of July, two thousand one four, unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the provisions of that article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the state fire commission until July 1, 2004, pursuant to the provisions of the West Virginia sunset law.

This bill is recommended for passage by the joint committee on government operations.)
