HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 62

Requesting the Division of Highways to name bridges number 39A 104 and 39A 112 on I-68 in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia the “Rick Howard Sanders Memorial Bridge”

    Whereas, Mr. Sanders was born October 30, 1947 to Mary I. Lantz Sanders and the late Virgil H. Sanders of Terra Alta; and

    Whereas, Mr. Sanders grew up in Terra Alta, West Virginia; and

    Whereas, Mr. Sanders began working as a mechanic for the West Virginia Department of Highways in September of 1971; and

    Whereas, Mr. Sanders died on June 4, 2008 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident at the Cooper’s Rock State Road Garage; and

    Whereas, Mr. Sanders was survived by his wife of forty years, Wilda Loughry Sanders, two dauthers Charlotte Sanders of Terra Alta and Ginger Busselman of Canal Fulton, Ohio, three grandchildren Tyson George of Tera Alta, and Nicholas and Ethan Busselman of Canal Fulton, Ohio; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to name bridges number 39A 104 and 39A 112 on I-68 in Bruceton Mills the “Rick Howard Sanders Memorial Bridge”; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is requested to have made and be placed, signs identifying the bridges as the “Rick Howard Sanders Memorial Bridge”; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates forward a certified copy of this resolution to the family of Rick Howard Sanders and the Secretary of the Department of Transportation.
