A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §14-2A-4a, relating
to requiring the Legislature to appropriate funds to the Small
Claims Compensation Fund every six months.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §14-2A-4a, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 2A. COMPENSATION AWARDS TO VICTIMS OF CRIMES.
§14-2A-4a. Legislature appropriation biannually.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, the Legislature shall appropriate funds, in accordance
with the provisions of this article, to the Small Claims
Compensation Fund every six months beginning with the fiscal year
two thousand nine.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the Legislature
to appropriate funds to the Small Claims Compensation Fund every
six months.
