A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-7c, relating
to providing seniority rights are preserved for teachers and
other professional employees that transfer to employment in
another county.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-7c, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.
§18A-4-7c. Retention of seniority after transfer of professional
personnel.
Notwithstanding any provision of this code to the contrary, a
county board shall preserve and enforce the seniority status of any teacher or other professional employee who transfers their
employment, whether the transfer is made within the county or from
another county.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide seniority rights
are preserved for teachers and other professional employees that
transfer to employment in another county.
