A BILL to amend article nine, chapter seventeen-c of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section seven, relating to motor vehicles generally; and providing an additional penalty for right-of-way violations in which the violator is found to have caused injury to another person.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article nine, chapter seventeen-c of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section seven, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 9. RIGHT-OF-WAY.

§17C-9-7. Additional penalty if violation results in injury.
Any person convicted of a violation under the provisions of this article in which the driver is found to have caused injury to another person, shall in addition to the penalties provided for the violation, be fined two hundred dollars and his or her license to operate a motor vehicle in this state shall be suspended for thirty days.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to
provide an additional penalty for right-of-way violations in which the violator is found to have caused injury to another person .
