A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §21-11-20; and to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-38-20; and to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-40-29, all relating to continuing education; requiring certain licensees to take continuing education in green building.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
     That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §21-11-20; that said code be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-38-20; and that said code be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-40-29, all to read as follows:
CHAPTER 21. LABOR.
ARTICLE 11. WEST VIRGINIA CONTRACTOR LICENSING ACT.
§21-11-20. Required continuing education.
          A licensee shall take a four-hour course concerning green or energy efficient building, or both, in order to renew his or her license.
CHAPTER 30. PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS.

ARTICLE 38. THE REAL ESTATE APPRAISER LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION ACT.
§30-38-20. Required continuing education.

Four hours of a licensee's current continuing education requirement shall inform a licensee on how to appraise green or energy efficient real estate, or both.
ARTICLE 40. WEST VIRGINIA REAL ESTATE LICENSE ACT.
§30-40-29. Required continuing education.

Four hours of licensee current continuing education requirement shall inform a licensee on green or energy efficient homes, or both.



          NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require contractors, real estate appraisers and real estate agents to take, as part of their continuing education requirement, four hours concerning green and/or energy efficient building.

          
          These sections are new; therefore, they have been completely underscored.
